چکیده

Abstract Using a 3D global solver of the linearized Euler equations, we model acoustic oscillations over background velocity flow fields single-cell meridional circulation with deep and shallow return flows as well double-cell strong weak reversals. The velocities are generated using mean-field hydrodynamic dynamo model—moving through regimes minimal parameter changes, counterrotation near base tachocline is induced by sign inversion nondiffusive action turbulent Reynolds stresses (Λ-effect) due to radial inhomogeneity Coriolis number. By mimicking stochastic excitation resonant modes in convective interior, simulate realization noise present solar observations. deep-focusing analyze differences travel-time signatures between four regimes, comparing observations, show that current helioseismology techniques may offer important insights about location strength flow; however, it not currently be possible definitively distinguish profiles or circulation.

Two Decades of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation:

6 The zonally integrated meridional volume transport in the North Atlantic (called AMOC) 7 is described in a 19-year long ocean state estimate, one consistent with a diverse global data 8 set. Apart from a weak increasing trend at high northern latitudes, the AMOC appears 9 statistically stable over the last 19 years with fluctuations indistinguishable from those of 10 a stationary Gaussian sto...

5. the Mean Meridional Circulation

(3) Here the square brackets denote zonal means, RΤ is the net radiation at the top of the atmosphere, and a time average has been used to eliminate the tendency term. Eq. By further integration of (3) with respect to latitude, we can obtain the meridional energy transport by the atmosphere, with ...

Meridional Circulation and Global Solar Oscillations

We investigate the influence of large-scale meridional circulation on solar p-modes by quasi-degenerate perturbation theory, as proposed by Lavely and Ritzwoller (1992). As an input flow we use various models of stationary meridional circulation obeying the continuity equation. This flow perturbs the eigenmodes of an equilibrium model of the Sun. We derive the signatures of the meridional circu...

Meridional Circulation and the Solar Magnetic Cycle

The Sun’s magnetic cycle manifests itself in an year periodic variation in the number of sunspots seen on the solar surface and a periodic reversal in the polarity of its large-scale magnetic fields. Exploring the origins of this magnetic cycle can unravel the physical mechanisms at work in the interior of magnetized stars like the Sun. Such studies are also important for understanding how the ...

Atlantic Dominance of the Meridional Overturning Circulation

North Atlantic (NA) deep-water formation and the resulting Atlantic meridional overturning cell is generally regarded as the primary feature of the global overturning circulation and is believed to be a result of the geometry of the continents. Here, instead, the overturning is viewed as a global energy–driven system and the robustness of NA dominance is investigated within this framework. Usin...
